It’s a beautiful Victoria Day – off to Stauffer. 6 vehicles at the store bridge so head up to Jackson’s stretch. Lots of insect activity early (11:00 a.m.) – various mayflies, small stoneflies. Start at the cattle crossing below the farm and fish thru the “Shunda Creek” stretch; go 3 for 15 – miss a good (16-18”) fish three times! (Leaning tree pool just down from 2nd cattle crossing) using #12 or 14 Adams, #12 Royal Wulff. Meet a guy from Strathmore who’s had a similar day (#16 or 18 Adams being his choice) – fish seem to be rising sporadically but not on a continued feeding pattern.
