It’s still too early! Start out at the Raven proper by the campground, river looks fine, there are a few bugs, but no action. 44° water. Note that it’s a cool blustery day.
Off to Prairie at Peter Smith’s – run into Al Piche from Stettler who caught a 14” brown on a dry fly – see it’s the only rise he saw. Prairie is 48°, pretty clear, fair number of bugs, but nothing happening.
Even old reliable Stauffer is not offering any surface action this day - 48°.
Give things another week or two – I’m beginning to think tho that one really might as well leave the dry flies at home until June 1.
