John S. and I float down from Carseland; hot & windy’; river is not too high, but dirty (!) We flog streamers down to the Reserve, zero action. Run into “wilderness survival instructor” from Arkansas testing out new sling – army fatigues, beard, lights his smoke with magnifying glass. Note: river flows way up from yesterday; even bigger volume at Calgary – beginning of official run-off?
