We're up at the crack of 7:30, and behold a crisp blue sky morning. After some bacon and eggs at the Highwood's diner, we head back to the stretch down from Hwy 3. My fishing companions are in pretty good shape notwithstanding the quantities of beer they consumed the previous evening. Glenn and Rob head up from the Pumphouse Bridge, and they end up tangling with a trio of big bull trout, as well as landing some rainbows and rockies. Frank and I head east. I step in to "Wally's Pool", where I promptly land a couple of nice 'bows; one on a beadhead Golden Stone pattern purchased last year at Vic Bergman's "Crowsnest Angler", the other on a little Copper John type nymph that I think was tied by Frank. Meanwhile, Frank is having his own encounter with a big (22"-23") bully... too bad no pix. Frank gets several more trout and rockies as well. At about 1:30, we drive up to the Burmis stretch, and also up to the East Hillcrest Bridge. Lotsa fellow flyfishermen about today. We fart around at Lundbreck Falls for a bit, before retiring to the A & W in Blairmore for Double Teen Burgers in the now howling west wind and snow flurries. It only gets up to 3 degrees or so in the Pass today. We arrive home safe and sound at about six p.m.
