Robert and I leave town at 9:00 a.m. – do a survey of the bridges – even reliable ol’ Stauffer is pretty murky at 761 bridge! 100 year flood in the south, Prairie is blown out, and it looks like even Stauffer was 18” higher yesterday. Into Jackson’s – start about noon. No fish rising anywhere… see about a dozen Green Drakes starting at about 2:00 p.m., but no customers. Try a variety of things, then finally a #8 Despicable, 2XL, weighted (with my 3 weight) – whadda ya know – move a couple of good fish, land 3 little guys (biggest 8”), miss a couple more … run into Barry Mitchell on the “cliff pool” (N.B. – Barry drives right up and parks at the pool!).
