John Schildroth and I try some “extreme fly-fishing” ie. cruising up the North Raven in his 14’ Jonboat with electric motor! We start at the “firefly bridge” about noon and spend about 4 hours slowly moving up – the concept works great, but unfortunately there’s no kind of hatch going on and the action is slow – I book 4 fish, land one – all little guys…only a couple of obstacles that require us to get out and haul the boat…I’d do this again, but preferably when there are some bugs happening - 64° water – beautiful, sunny calm day. Stop by Prairie Creek on way home – lots of salmonfly husks down by Everdell – river seems to be clearing up….
