Morel omelet with Robert for lunch – North Raven in the p.m. We pull into Carl (?) Olsen’s place down from Hwy 761; jungle-type stretch. I catch the 1st rising fish we see (#18 Comparadun Emerger) – we notice a lot of Green Drake spinners, but only the occasional rise from larger noses. I later get a refusal when my version of the spinner stops short on it’s drift…tough going down here as usual…Gorgeous day; lotsa bugs (mostly tiny – see huge numbers of tiny nymphs in Seine). We’re otherwise given another humbling lesson from this great little creek. Note: Mitchell/Scammell falling out over Mitchell’s refusal to pay Bob a “kill fee” for a story commissioned for the Alberta Fishing Guide.
Note: Glen Strong’s story about hiker mistaking campstove fuel for vodka – “narrowing vision” – rescued by fellow hikers
