Back to the Crow! Once again, it’s Robert, Ken & I, camped @ Allison Creek. Same time as last year, but conditions are considerably different – record rainfalls in Southern Alberta and high snow pack in the mountains have combined to result in very high water – Ken reports that the lower reaches (i.e. Horseshoe Bend) are unfishable. We arrive at about noon on “Golden Pond” to find the river high but relatively clear and fishable – Ken tries the belly boat while Robert and I fish upstream and down. It’s a chilly, drizzly day, water temp is a cool 48° (compare to 55° last year). Fair numbers of PMD’s, but not much action; I go 1 for 2 – 8” ‘er; Ken gets a couple of in the 14 – 15” range, Robert lands a brookie. I go for a swim, take my camera with me!
