Flood warnings everywhere! It’s a very wet June 1st in south Central Alberta; looks like most rivers will be “blown-out” for a while yet. When all else is muddy, where else to go but Stauffer. Try upstream from “ducks” bridge. Fine little stretch in places, gin clear! over gravelly stretches. Nothing rising in the 42° water, but run into an old guy (who winters in Arizona) tell me about his wife catching an 18” brown in the hole just east of the road (on a worm) – sez lots of brookies here years ago. Then walk into the stretch up from E-W bridge, from the north. Not necessary, just walk in from the south, much closer. Miss a little one (water is 49° here) in the rain, stop by Stauffer store where I view the “statement” from one Trevor Cave, who caught an 11 lb. 5 oz. brown down from the store bridge last Sunday! – on a worm. Too bad worms are illegal…
