Float Everdell to Confluence Bridges with Robert. The River seems considerably wider and bigger (makes sense..) down here. There had been fair numbers of both goldenstones and salmonflies out yesterday, hardly any of the big bugs seen (a few later on) on this stretch. Run into 3 FFF’s from Edmonton. Slower action today…I land 2 nice browns, 15 & 17” ‘es, both caught on Genuine Prairie Creek Whitetail Salmonflies. It’s 20°
again, but blustery east wind/thunder showers later on as we sit and wait for Brown Drakes down at Grant Olsen’s place. Robert relates tale of Leslie Olsen (the farmer’s wife, as it were) mentioning that Grant would be out of town for the next week – changing into pink shorts etc! They sure have beautiful log cabin. Wind keeps blowin, no sign of the Drakes. Should we have fished further upstream today? Perhaps, but then again, would I ever have seen this fine stretch of Prairie?
