Peak Activity for this day:

The ecstasy and the agony – in the middle of fly-fishing mecca with one novice and 2 non-fishing companions – end up doing a little clinic @ the headwaters of Rock Creek (lots of little cuts – Chris even lands one! Fist day out…), fish a bit around our excellent campsite, but there’s 60 miles of river to try and figure out in 3 days… Plates from Florida to Nevada abound, real fly-fishin’ country. No notable success around campsite – hook 1 but lose a couple of good fish on San Juans, land a couple of whitefish on Rick’s Mink!). Up at 5:30 a.m. to tube Georgetown Lake Saturday a.m. – gorgeous calm morning, but only sporadic rises of huge trout, few Baetis spinners on the water. Glen nets nice 13” ‘bow. Drive through Flathead Valley on way back – trips to consider. Flathead River (wild) – Blackfoot Reserve (big fish – but must get tribal permit). A fun but frustrating trip.
