Time to leave the beautiful Crow, but before we go we head for the flat stretch upstream (Sentinel) for a couple of hours. It’s real mountain weather today, dark clouds rolling in, wind howling @ times – feels like it’s going to snow. Much slower action today in the 54° water, but there are enuff pale morning duns to inspire a few fish. I go 2 for 3 with a 15 ½” scrapper and an 11” beauty. Rob gets a little one, Ken heads for the stretch we fished on day 1. The boys report that the fish we ate on Sunday had been taking freshwater shrimp – perhaps give this a try in future. Note also Ken’s technique of nymphing with spinning gear. Makes sense!
I’ll be back – maybe in late August for the fabled giant orange caddis. So long, Crowsnest!
