Peak Activity for this day:
With Bruce & Roodie – Blair Fry’s Mac Drift Boat, start @ Policeman’s and begin the flyfishing lesson. It’s hot (Roodie has brief faint), river’s low, nothing much doing. Camp at nice spot, have a great time (no sleep, Roodie snores) but no fish Friday.
Saturday a.m. we concentrate on Bow River Bugger (blue). Bruce and I both hook (and lose) good trout with sink trip line, short leader. Lots of river traffic (mostly with spinning gear). Hear later that one idea is to fish faster, ripply water in hot weather. A few caddis around on Friday night but no significant hatch. No luck with nymphs, hoppers, caddis, either. Oh well, “good fishin’, lousy cathin’”.
