Saturday July 27, 1996 Red Deer River

John and I head out from MacKenzie trail at about 1:30 p.m., we’re going to float down to the mouth of the Blindman some 8 ½ miles downstream. Goldeye are the (only) order of one day; we’d look for risers particularly again at the tailout on outside bends, deeper water. If you find one, you usually find a dozen. We first get into fish at about 2:30, and from then on from time to time until we pull into Burbank (nice spot!) at about 9:00 p.m. Hump John’s boat up the hill. Score for the day: KMS 12, John 9, biggest fish 1 ¼ lbs. Adams, Trudes, Stimulators, Caddis all work on the feisty goldeye.
