N. Ram River with Jim Gilbert & Ken Graham. It’s been hot lately – great time to be in the mountains. We set up camp on Friday night, head out Saturday a.m., about 11:00. Jim has trouble with his ankle, Ken & I head down (we’re camped near the “White” cabin). River is in good shape, 54° Friday night (altho down to 46° by Sat. morning). End up having a pretty good day – I land 24 fish (biggest is maybe 15”), lose a number, and miss a bunch. The “fly du jour” is definitely a Royal Wulff, with Royal Trude in second place. Fish ignore my Green Drakes, Adams, etc. Good activity in early afternoon, and from about 7:30 to dark there is a massive hatch of various mayflies, the fish are going nuts. Ken lands a half dozen fish, Jim actually loses one. A good day.
