July 26, 1998 Bow River

Robt. and Ken arrive unexpectedly in the a.m. – I had planned to head back – anyhow, turns out to be a great day: after a bit of a slow start, the streamers kick in – we find fish in deeper lies, areas where there’s a good, but not fast, flow of up to 4-5’ or deeper water; still some on the banks, too – land 23 for the day, average 15” – several I the 20”+ range (note: we settle into routine of Robt. rowing, Ken & I catching) – I have good success with Gartside Leach (2 or 4?) We find a nice pod down in the reserve, get a bunch. Still no caddis at dark. Probably 50+ encounters for the day.
