Tar and I head out from Mac’s at about 4:30 p.m., leave town at 2:10. The river is still pretty high and fast, not great visibility, 2’ or so…expectations therefore aren’t great. However, I do find some rising trout today, typically along the outside bends and particularly along the tail of the bend in the calmer water. Get a little brown on a trude, then spend an hour or so along a bend casting to, hooking, losing and breaking off large rainbows, mostly on stimulators, this from 6:30-7:30. Actually land a nice ‘bow too. Cast to and miss several more risers on the way down. Tar chases fawns. Home at about 1:30 a.m.
