Peak Activity for this day:

Most rivers are now blown out – lots of rain in July this year (the year of the great floods on the Mississippi) – North Ram is the exception, says Ken Short, who caught some big cuts (up to 19”) down from Cripple Creek, but even Ken says you pick your spots to wade it. Stop by cabin to pick up Robert’s bellyboat, talk to Ken briefly. Prairie’s been blown out since Wednesday. The day had started out fine, but by the time I’m rigged up there are several thunderstorms (with lightning) in the area, so I’m a little cautious… - not much happening on the lake, either. Very few rises. I do manage 4 fish including 16 ½” leaper (on #8 grey goomphs buy). Doug Wood says employee Dale was out @ Eagle Lake yesterday and got some good cuts. Shut ‘er down @ 7:30 – home in time to see the Coneheads. No fishing in the movie.
