Stay out at the Short’s cabin; Robert and I lay plans for a float from the Reed’s cabin to the bridge at Qually’s. Turns out to be a gorgeous Canada day – fair numbers of salmonflies in the air, very few bugs on the water. I get the occasional fish to 15” (browns) on Elk Hair Salmon; Robert gets a couple of whitefish nymphing with Brown Drake. Run into Bob S. down from O’Keefe’s – we get to watch Robert fail to connect on 3 tries to a rather larger brown. We see a few Brown Drake spinners between 8:30 – 10:30 – best action at dusk, also; particularly in terms of rising fish. Water 61°
at 1:00, 24°high today. Water is in good shape for Prairie. Run into Russ Thornberry while picking up Robert’s truck!
