We head out about noon, and decide to take a look at the slow “Sentinel” stretch by the sawmill @ Allison Creek. Good access, no other fishermen, and lots of rises right off the hop. Another bluebird day, too. Good numbers of pale duns and large golden stones. Tie on a large Letort hopper and whammo! Big fish – snaps my 6 x tippet in a flash. In the afternoon I go 0 for 7, all good fish missed; Robert tho takes an 18” ‘er, Ken takes a 16” ‘er (for supper) see photos. 60° water. Such a promising stretch that we head back in the evening. Again lots of activity; I manage 9 for 15 or so, including a couple of 13 1/2” fish – great fight in these rainbows. Using pale morning dun, and John’s Elk Hair Hopper. Jack Ianderyou (bridge player) joins us for some fishing and some bridge. Yet another good day.
