Rob is catching large numbers of Goldeye on the Red Deer just ¼ mile upstream from Joffre Bridge – best time 7:00-8:00 p.m., using elk hair and Goddard raddis. (note: Scammell suggests hopper fished sloppily)

Note: In Waskesiu with the kids July 28-August 3 and try a bit of fishing. Very tough go for the fly fisherman (I actually find myself casting to some rising suckers on Waskesiu River). Plentiful perch near Paignton Beach where kids catch a batch using small spinner baited with ie. beef heart. Fishing for lake trout, pike, walleye etc. seems to require ie. heavy tackle, downriggers, scanners and the like.
