Out to Prairie Creek to recover my lost wedding ring from Albert Fuhrer – meet up with his son Scott who tells tall tales of 35 lb. brown trout in Spring Creek, and catching 100 “whites” in a day. Start fishing about 5:00 @ the Home Pool, work my way up to the Moose Crossing. Creek is in fine shape even tho has been a lot of rain lately – Clearwater is swollen and brown… Catch a nice Brown right off in the Home Pool – size 12 John’s Elk Hair Hopper, another by the Big Bend, and a couple of brookies just down from the Beaver Trap pool – miss a few others on the hopper. Water is 57°, scattered showers – fish to about 7:30. Fair numbers of a largish, lime green mayfly, some BWO looking little guys. Hopper seems to work, tho.
