Mac’s to Janzen’s with Glen Strong – a gorgeous late summer date - 80°
Or so, calm, the water’s clear, lots of folks on the river. We do okay – I’m 4 for 6, some good sized ‘bows (a couple on the 3 wt. – good fun). Glen finally lands (hooks!) a Bow River fish, including a fine 4 pounder @ 21 ¼”. Not a lot of rising fish; we generally get some action on caddis patterns when we find risers….I get one on elk hair pupa with Bighorn nymphing method. Float time – 2:45-9:00; fair bit of walk/wade. Note: spot a couple of salmonflies!!
