Head off with Tar to David Thompson Resort, spend Friday night and Saturday on some of the small streams in the area. Find good numbers of little bull trout on Tershishner Creek, land a dozen or so as the sun goes down. Try Chungo Creek on Saturday a.m., but it’s quite off-colour (Lots of rain lately) and no luck in an hour or so. Back down to Dry Haven Creek; little brookies everywhere (and a few big i.e. 14” ‘ers spotted); land a few more little brookies in the evening on beautiful but tiny Allstones Creek. Abraham Lake looks real quiet – Cline River, N. Sask. Are too glacial looking for my tastes. Sunday fart around a bit on N. Ram. Lots of action, move many fish but only hook 3 and land none! (Hopper time…). Real nice fish (18” +?) snaps me off when I try to hoise him in on 5x tippet. Real educated fish I’d say (unlike their hungry cousins further west).
