Maiden voyage for the kingfisher PFC! Ken Short and I set out about 11:00 a.m. on a blustery April morn – with some misgivings, I suspect…2 tyro’s in a new boat on an unfamiliar stretch of river. No worries, as it turns out…the stream is lox and clear; too slow moving if anything. Ken fools a 15” brown with B. River Bugger in the first 10 minutes; naturally, it’s the only fish we land all day. Ken does lose a couple of others (1 on SJW, 1 on white bugger). The boat works fine-quite a bit of rowing downstream into nasty NW wind. We pull ashore at about 7:30 p.m. – about an hour and a half spent wading/lunch etc. Bob S. later reminisces about he and Mac J. doing this stretch in August or September! Some nice pools, but rather far apart.
