Me n’Tar do the Crow! No April Fool’s this year – head downstream from Westcastle Road bridge, end up with a doz. fish by 3:00 – half RMW’s, half ‘bows, all good fish, trout are all in 14-16” range (one maybe close to 17) – all on good ol’ Rick’s Mink (ginger – pick up some genuine mink at Bergman’s, but they seem to prefer ginger colour. Get a few white’s on Prince Nymph dropper. Tar is improving slowly as a fishing dog, lots of yelling early on. Back to Burmis Lake and up from 4:30 – 6:30. 2 more good trout (good aerials from one), 3 more RMW’s, miss a few more. Forecast is off again. It’s a cool, heavy overcast day, contrary to the Weather Network’s prognostication. Lots of fellow flyfishermen about, river seems to be a little higher than last week. All in all 17 fish, 8 rainbows, 9 RMW’s.
