Yeehaw! The wind is down and we can do the tarpon thing. It's a 45 minute ride to the flats, and once again we're getting more than enough shots, but these fish seem to have lockjaw. One wonders if it might have something to do with the fishing pressure. There have been 6-8 guide boats around on both days that we've been out here. We've seen only one other fish hooked (smaller fish but a few good leaps and a hard fight). No hits, no runs, no fish left on base today. We had some good chances, too. Try a variety of flies; no interest. Back at San Pedro, we've moved to new digs at Paradise Resort Hotel, not to be confused with Paradise Villas next door... no relation. Where to eat tonight? Maybe Calientes - great food there last night. Note to self: rooms at Ruby's were $50 US for singles, AC, no TV, clean but very basic. Here at Paradise Resort, it's a bit more upscale: thatched roof Cabanas, rooms at $80 US per person, okay cable tv (ESPN2), but the AC worked better at Ruby's :-)
