Off to Montana! Rob and I are on the road at 8:00 a.m., and after an uneventful drive, we arrive at Wolf Creek at about 5:00 p.m. We grab a bite at Craig, and then head up from the Wolf Creek bridge to see what we can see. It has been raining hard all day, and the precip continues... they are calling for 10 to 20 inches of snow tonight at higher elevations. In fact, there is a heavy snowfall warning for some areas. Anyhow, the Mo is flowing at about 4500 cf/s. There is a heavy midge hatch underway, with a fair number of BWO's mixed in for good measure. We find a fair number of risers, but with the exception of one fish that hits a caddis that Rob presents, we get no customers. By dark, we are parked at the Wolf Creek bridge listening to the Oilers game on satellite radio (Oilers beat the Mighty Ducks to win the NHL Western Conference title ---alright!!) and watching a fish rise by the boat launch. Forecast for tomorrow: cold and wet. Oh well, we will see what transpires.
