December 3, 1999 --- Hurunui River, South Island, New Zealand
We do the upper end of the Hurunui today, up by Stoney Creek. It's a much tougher day, lots of wind and indifferent spotting light. We see a few very nervous fish. However, Bob makes an impressive call with a dry fly --- land a 6 lb'er after a tailwalking thrash and longish fight. The valley is much more open further up. Venison tonite at Helen's.
