It's a rare calm day on the Crow. I get into a few fish early on nymphs, as does Wade. However, things are very quiet despite our best efforts until mid afternoon. While I continue to flail away with the subsurface stuff, Wade notices rising fish. There are a ton of midge swarming near the surface, and of course some are on the water, as are a few BWO's, and Wade educates a bunch of unsuspecting 'bows on a little size twenty-two fly with five x tippet. I finally get a clue and try a similar set up, and get a couple as well. On the way back to the truck, we find another pool where there are a bunch of fish feeding in the foam lines of the big backeddie, but we can't fool these guys.
