It's a fine fall day on the Bow, as evidenced by the weather chart below. We get outta town at about 7:30, and are on the water shortly after 10:00 a.m. The fishing is reasonably steady... it seems that you can usually find a fish in most patches of good holding water, which is the mid-thigh deep, choppy stuff on the inside bend of a curve in the river. I display no imagination in my choice of flies today: SJW's, Prince-type beadhead nymphs, etc :-) I get a little brown on a BRB. Rob and I get solid hookups with a dozen or so real nice rainbows for the day, altho we don't land most... LDR's and a couple of breakoffs. Fellow pontooner is having a good day; he says he got 5 at the Cliffs of Doom, and we see him highstick up several more further down. I get into a couple of good fish just above the Highwood; FFF'er gets a big one across the river. We flog a variety of stuff from the boats, without any real success. Come across a couple of good pods of rising fish... no luck trying to fool these picky fish, at least in the time we have. We're off the river at about dusk; home by 9:30 or so.
