Back in the spring at the TU Dinner, I had purchased the day of guided fishing on the Red Deer which had been donated by my buddy Tim Maley. Our springtime plans got blown away by the flood, but Tim has been out and about on the river lately and he knew where there were some browns that might come up at dusk. The forecast was favourable, so I put Tim to work. Lo and behold, things are starting to look promising when a cold front with rain blows thru and that is it. I do manage a fish on a size 20 Parachute Adams, tho. Been a while since I remember getting a brown on a dry on my "home river". The river is really low at the moment; funny stuff at the dam this year; a couple of weeks ago they bumped it to 200 m3/s for a couple of days. Anyhow, we get the boat out at a slippery takeout in the rain and reflect on another day on the Red Deer...
