Back to "The Beav" on a warm, sunny, breezy August afternoon. Word is that the lake has been hot of late; seems rather lukewarm today, altho that is probably just me. Or, as Frank suggests, maybe the fishing was hot when the water was cold; there had been a cool spell recently. As the shallows warm up again, do the fish move deeper? Anyhow, on the water at about 12:30; fish for four hours; hook four, land two, break off a good 'un. All on the Monogrammed Schwimmer pattern. Lots of FFF'ers on the water today; twenty or so other craft. Not much surface activity... see a few caddis. New stripping basket works very well.
