July 26, 27, 28 – Fernie area

Roper and I brush in @ Rick Porkka’s, and fish Lodgepole Creek, the Wigwam River, the Elk River, the Upper Flathead River and Michel Creek. Our mission is to find the big bulls in the Wigwam – we fail in that mission, but find plenty of (as usual) eager cutts. The countryside is hot and dry, and the fires in the Crowsnest Pass have just started. Run into Bob Scammell a couple of days after we get back; he says he has detailed maps on how to get to the big pools on the Wiggy… he was guided there by Rob/Mike Prefontaine(?) who has ropes to get down into the canyons?
