Brekkie at Glenn's Family Restaurant at eight, on the water (at the totally ice-free Policeman's Flats) by eleven. After unloading the boat, we notice that one trailer wheel hub is hanging by a thread, the bearings fried. Lucky did not come undone on Hwy. 2. Fortunate for me to have a fishing companion knowledgeable in such matters and I am dispatched to the nearest Princess Auto to pick up a new hub/bearings package. An hour and a quarter later, Wade has the wheel fixed and we're good to go. We fish the usual patterns in the usual places, with some pretty good action; we each hook double digits, landing maybe three quarters of those. As always at this time of year, the fish tend to the large size; Wade gets one particularly handsome and oversized brown. I screw up the photo/video today. I only brought my new GoPro mini video cam today, and due to operator error all I got was some goofy looking self portraits. Really wish I had actually shot the video of Wade's big brown that I thot I was shooting. As is evident from the chart, the weather is marvellous for early March in southern Alberta; warm and not a cloud in the sky.
