We're on the water at Fish Creek by about eleven forty-five on a pretty nice early spring Southern Alberta day. Things are a bit slow to start, but by early afternoon Frank has got into a bunch of trout, and I hook and lose a couple. The usual suspects do the trick tackle-wise. We notice quite a few other fishermen out this Wednesday afternoon, including a couple with Spey rods. I get into some good action at a pool up from the Deerfoot extension where I hook four, landing two, busting one off, with one coming undone. Both fish landed are nice browns, altho one has some recent wounds. By six thirty, dusk has descended, and we're pulling out at Policeman's. On the day, Frank lands like fifteen fish, including a two foot long brown, and misses three or four more. I land the aforementioned two browns, and lose/breakoff four others, and Rob got a whitefish, lol! Ah, the fickle nature of the flyfishing deities :-) Bow River Shuttles expertly handles the shuttle duties; we get all three pontoon boats very nicely into Al Sim's covered utility trailer. Rubber soled studded wading boots work very well on the ice sheets along the edges of the river.
