Turns out that virtually all the upper Skeena tributaries are super low this year, so we opt for a pontoon boat rather than the jet boat, and we do the self-shuttle deal with a rental from Prince George. Not a lot of fish to be seen... we get a few, but we have to work hard for the ones we get. We check out some parts of the upper river that we hadn't seen before. Quite a few folks around, particularly up and down from By Mac. Home for the trip is the fabulous Sunshine Inn in Houston. Glad to see that Happy Jack's restaurant is up and running next door, although the Log Cabin restaurant that had a bunch of mounted sport fish (and a cook who loved to talk fishin') is no longer in operation.
