Decew falls is a true plunge waterfall. Water from Beaver Dam Creek flows off a rock ledge and lands, a good distance from the cliff, in the plunge pool at the base. You can easily walk around behind the falls (at your own risk) if you are in the gorge. The Morningstar Mill at the top of the falls has been restored into a museum, and is an operational mill. Usually I hate to see man-made structures cluttering the natural setting of a waterfall, but in this very rare case, I believe the mill at the top of the falls adds to the scene. If you are in the St. Catherine's, Ontario area, you should check it out!
