Project Details

The Don Orione Centre opened in February 2005 and originally accommodated 15 children with special needs on a daily basis, their ages ranging from 4 – 22 years.They now have 47 students, their difficulties ranging from Autism, Down Syndrome to Deafness. The project is building a new centre and hopes to have it ready by December 2009. They have enough funding for the Ground floor and will eventually need €70,000 to complete the upstairs.

Martin and Niamh were blessed with €33,000 in fundraised money to date which has been used on this project in Kenya. Niamh taught in St. Clare's Comprehensive School in Manorhamilton until this summer, and many of her students have fundraised tirelessly. The people fo Castlerea have also been very generous. Niamh is now Chaplain in Glenamaddy Community School.
