The Green Heron (juvenile) was photographed by me in this gallery on June 30, 2006 in Wetlands adjacent to the north shore of the Santa Rosa Sound about 5/10 of a mile from the Navarre Beach Bridge, Navarre, Florida. Juvenile plumage has more brown on the upperparts, heavily streaked underparts, white chin, and dull yellow legs

Once the juvenile Green Heron matures it will have perhaps more blue green on the back. It is a widely distributed heron found in almost every wetland in the summer.
