Thanks for leaving a comment on my photo of Silom at Convent. It really has been a ghost town around here. Thank the Lord Buddha for Foodland!

You're right about Pantip Plaza, people glowing in the dark from the radiation. The worst thing about the place for me is the air. After 1/2 hour I start getting a headache & am gasping for breath.

The temple of Phnom Bakheng, in Angkor, is the temple on top of the hill, which many people climb to see the sunset. And no, I've never been to Beng Malea. I'll have to visit it next time I'm in Angkor. Thanks for mentioning it.

Hi! Ken from Thailand
You're living in Thailand?
I like the way you took a picture so much and nice to meet you.

Thanks for the comment on my latest photo of Wat Arun, taken at dusk. It was a lucky shot. I was on an express ferry coming down river & just gave it a go. And BTW, your description of Bangkok as a mistress is the way I feel, too. Absolutely spot on.

Yes, the photo of the Chao Phraya just posted was taken at dusk, from the cocktail lounge at the top of the Millennium Hilton, on the Nonthaburi side of the river. I think it has the best view of all those high top hotels, and tho the drinks are 250 baht a pop, they're generous.

Thank you for visiting my Scotland Gallery and your comment on my Brora boathouse
Guest 06-Sep-2006 02:03
Thanks for visiting. I have roughly 8 more months of shots that I haven't downloaded which consist mostly of rural Thailand locales (Ban Mai San Lab etc) and a bit of Laos where they haven't seen farangs before, so check back in a couple of months if you wish. I used no proper "tour guides" after figuring out the system here in Thailand, but have 3 or 4 "fixer type guides if you ever need one.

You have a talented eye, and I have added you to my favorites. I also noted that you are shooting with a 5D, a great camera indeed. I hope to learn more from looking at your photography in the future.

Aloha, JB

Thank you for visiting and commenting. I'd just started doing some conversions and toning and the ghost towns and old locomotives seemed natural candidates. I missed Thailand while in the area with the navy - although we did get a chance to visit a number of other ports. Looks like you have been making the most of your "new" photographic interests!
