The Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is home to several historic ship displays and museums. Among them, in addition to HMS Victory, is HMS Warrior, launched in 1860, a time of transition from sail to steam, outfitted to use either form of propulsion. Also on display is the recovered hulk of HMS Mary Rose, the flagship of Henry VIII's fleet, which foundered in the Solent in 1545.
