We made an excursion from this port to the UNESCO World Heritage City of Antigua Guatamala. Antigua Guatamala was the capital of all of Central America under the Spanish from 1543 until the 1773, when it was largely destroyed by an earthquake. As can be seen in this photo and a many subsequent ones, Guatamala has many volcanoes and Antigua is surrounded by three: Agua, Fuego & Acatenango. The latter two can be seen in the distance from our landing point.
