One way, and the most desirable way to photograph exotic tropical plants is to travel to the tropics. The other, and more practical way, is to visit climate controlled bioparks. The botanical garden in Albuquerque has an excellent indoor garden to see a wide variety of exotics. Having lived in the Bay Area for many years, I also enjoyed visiting the San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers and the Botanical Gardens at UC California, Berkeley to see their collection of orchids, bromalids, anthurium, lilies, colorful lobster claws, pitcher plants, ferns and more. The Botanical Gardens annually displays blooming corpse flower blossoms. The amazing blossoms are over five feet tall. The name provides a clue about the flower's fragrence...
