Deceptive Tranquility

This contented steer is standing about 35 miles from the Trinity Site, the location of the first atomic bomb test. Although fallout followed a path southeast and away from this site, one still has to wonder how safe it is.

Where's my Geiger counter when I need it?

Residents of the small town of Tularosa, which was right in the middle of the fallout path still are suffering from very high rates of cancer. The Govt. has completely ignored calls for assistance in paying medical bills. The residents were not advised of the test or evacuated prior to the test, even though it was only about 20 miles from the test site. This is not a nice story and one of the many ugly faces of a removed government.

Wow, I didn't know this! Another evidence of how little the politicians really care!
