Say Goodbye...

Once, I viewed oil/gas drilling as a good thing, but no longer. I think oil companies are committing criminal acts with drilling strategies that is making groundwater and living near their operations hazardous to all things living.

As a result of drilling near a friend's home near Durango, CO, there is not only gas coming out of water faucets, one neighbor's house blew up when seeping gas accumulated inside. The building was completely gone when the owners returned from shopping. They were lucky to be out of the house when the explosion occurred. After the homeowner was blamed by local oil officials, the oil company immediately installed seeping gas(from the ground) detection equipment in all the area homes. No admission of responsibility for the now departed homestead, of course.

Since so many people are employed by the oil companies, few complain. Their grandchildren will.

Not only will their scenic views be scarred and/or gone, their groundwater will be unusable. Their health will most certainly be compromised beyond repair - by the greed of oil barons.

When the Koch brothers and their pals start drinking the water from wells near their drilling operations I will reconsider my condemnation.
