From Santa Fe's Zozobra website..."Zozobra is a hideous but harmless fifty-foot bogeyman marionette. He's made of straw and toothless. He's been constructed each year, since 1924, for the Santa Fe Fiesta. On his big day, he moans and groans, rolls his eyes and twists his head. His mouth gapes and chomps. His arms flail about in frustration - like many gloomy people. Each year, he faces the same fate. He is burned in blaze of fireworks. As he goes, he takes with him all troubles for another whole year. Santa Fe celebrates another victory. Viva la Fiesta!"
