There's a wide variety of housing around Grand Canyon Village at the south rim. There are several hotels, but none offer a better value than the Bright Angel Lodge. It's an historic lodge built in 1935. It was designed by Mary Colter and built by Fred Harvey. Mary Colter also was the architect for the Hopi House and the Desert View Watchtower. The Bright Angel lodge is quite rustic and charming and is just a few steps from the rim. Rooms are available for under $100/night. The Tovar Lodge is the premier lodge in the park. The restaurant serves excellent braised lamb shanks. There's also a campground and RV park near the Village.
