Mines has grown and has a long stem as if it's about to bloom. What should I do?

I have a huge spine similar to the above one but there is a long stem growing in the centre which is almost three and a half meters long, should cut of off or is it a flower that must still bloom

I dug up one of these plants off side of road ten years ago and this is twice I have had to dig it up from multiplying. I can't kill the leftovers. They keep coming back. What can I use tor do to stop growth

Will these do good in the shade. If not can you please tell me what spiny plants will do good in the shade. We have an area at our office that we want to deter homeless people from sleeping there. Help. Emily in Miami Florida

what is this type of plant. I have some in my yard and are wondering how to prune or if cut back will they come back. I have a lot of dead growth at the bottom.
