August turned out to be a very busy month. We had many visitors and spent a lot of time exploring the nearby woods and destinations including Mackinac Island, the Upper Peninsula and the Pictured Rocks, the Lake Michigan shoreline between Traverse City and Mackinac City, the wineries of Traverse Bay, Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, and the Amish community of Mio.
The weather continued to be cool, overcast and rainy. Maples began to show shades of red and crimson. It's clear we'll see fall colors early this year.
